Responsibilities

The Business Services supports the District’s goal in maximizing funds to ensure fiscal responsibility and to support the District’s ability to deliver a comprehensive, safe, and enriching education.

Responsibilities of the department include:

  • Budget development and monitoring

  • Financial reporting

  • Accounting

  • Payroll processing

  • Accounts payable and receivable processing

  • Purchasing

  • Audits

Developer Fees

A charge per square foot on residential and commercial construction within a school district. These fees, charged both to developers of new properties and to property owners who remodel, are based on the premise that new construction will lead to additional students. Proceeds may be used for building or renovating schools and for portable classrooms (EdSource). Effective February 18, 2025, rates are as follows:

  • Check payable to Colfax Elementary School District
